6.12.6 REQUEST FOR SAMPLE WITH NO COMMERCIAL VALUE REQUIRING REIMPORTATION REQUIREMENTS: a. Application for authorization (Format for legal entity and natural person). b. Evidence of laboratory or person/qualified company carrying 6.13 GENERAL MANAGEMENT FOR MERCHANT MARINE 6.13.1 REGISTER OF SHIPS OR VESSELS (PATENTS FOR TEMPORARY NAVIGATION, CERTIFICATE OF SEAWORTHINESS) The purpose of the Register of Ships is to register vessels and natural persons or legal entities who are owners or renters of such vessels. The Directorate General for Merchant Marine Average time: 1 business day according to the Organic Law of the Directorate General of the Merchant Marine Cost: Varies according to tonnage of vessel REQUIREMENTS: out physical-optical analysis. f. Copy of itinerary or agenda. a. Public Deed of power of attorney duly legalized, if applicable, or power of attorney duly authenticated; original or authenticated copy of ownership title, lease, or legal act proving the rightful ownership of the ship. b. Tonnage certificate issued by a prestigious classification society (vessel capacity) c. Official certificate duly authenticated of the cancellation of the previous registration if definitive registration; not being required in cases of new construction and judicial auction. d. For permanent registration of patents for ships of twenty (20) or older, a valid class or seaworthiness confirmation certificate issued by a classification society or inspection authorized by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine.

e. Duly authenticated official certificate of taxes due on the ship or vessel. This information will be registered in the corresponding Mercantile and Property Registry Office. f. Certified copy of lease, if applicable. g. Indicate the fishing area and the processing plant within Honduran borders. h. Having received the application, the Directorate-General of the Merchant Marine, will verify if the request and the accompanying documents meet the requirements of Article 48 of this Law; if finding them in conformity, a provisional registration of the ship will be granted, and the applicant will be issued an Interim Navigation Certificate. In urgent cases, after the provisional registration has been made, the respective consul will be instructed, by expedient communications, to issue the said certificate to the person concerned. i. The provisional Navigation Certificate will authorize the ship or vessel to sail under the Honduran flag for a period of six (6) months, which may be extended for one time only, for three (3) months and recorded in the respective book. j. Applications for Provisional Navigation patents, which meet the requirements set out in Articles 48 and 77 of this Law, will be issued within twenty-four (24) hours from the corresponding provisional navigation patent submission, also issuing ship or vessel registration. (Article reformed by Decree 200-97, published on January 31, 1998). k. The flagging of boats or ships authorizes the legitimate hoisting of the national flag and is consummated with the delivery of the Navigation patent. Ships registered provisionally or definitively in Honduras shall be flagged. l. Ships duly registered and flagged in Honduras will, for all legal purposes, have Honduran nationality.
